This book was mentioned in an article I was reading and I hoped to find some great Christmas stories from the past in the book. I was not disappointed. Since purchasing the book I have read eight of the stories and have enjoyed all of them. Happy Christmas by Daphne Du Maurier was an interesting story, one to make you stop and think about what Christmas really means. The story is not anti-semitic as one reader who commented on the book said. That reader missed the point. If you thought about what was happening in the story, you would see that DuMaurier was holding up for the reader to examine a family that was so caught up in Christmas trappings that they missed the opportunity to show a true Christmas spirit of helping someone in need.

Every year I remember being read to and later reading one or more stories from this book. Finding the collection brought back fond memories.
Excellent Christmas reading .
A copy of this book has been in our home for many Christmases. One of our daughters moved away and we wanted her to have a copy to continue the tradition of reading aloud from it to her family at Christmas time. We love this book.
Love to curl up with a good book; this is one of my favorites, most especially at Christmas, sitting by the fire) It even makes a cute statement piece for Christmas decor)
Book was in great condition. I like reading Christmas stories during the holidays and there are many in this book to enjoy.
I love this book. I got a copy of it last Christmas at the library and fell in love with how the pages felt so I bought one before I even returned the library's copy. Pages just don't feel like this anymore, it is lovely and a pleasure to hold in your hand. I would recommend anyone adding it to their library who is a reader and loves Christmas books, not just how they feel. ;)
My father, now 72, had this book when he was a child, loved it and kept it into adulthood. Somewhere through the years, the book went missing and every Christmas, and periodically through the year, he would say how he missed it and wondered where it ended up. I purchased this 1945 edition, from when he was 3 and first remembers the book. He got all misty when he opened it on fathers day and, I believe, has read every story in it already. I'm sure it will come back out every Christmas now that he has it again.
This seller was wonderful to deal with, the book was exactly as described and shipped fairly quickly and arrived in great shape. He also sent a thank you note, which was very very nice and locked me in as a future customer.
